Fundamental Physics from Gravitational Waves

Abstract

The recent observations of gravitational waves have opened new opportunities in astrophysics, cosmology and fundamental physics, some of which can be explored using atom interferometers. These include the formation of supermassive black holes, searches for a graviton mass and Lorentz violation, probes of possible phase transitions in the early Universe, and the possible existence of cosmic strings.
